Yves Saint Laurent



Professionally known as Yves-Henri-Donat-Mathieu Saint Laurent, French fashion designer is highly noted for his popularisation of women’s trousers . He founded his own fashion label in 1961. He has been the most consistently celebrated and influential designers from the past 25 years.

He had a different perspective towards fashion by wanting to combine comfort and elegance for women at the same time.

In 1962 Saint Laurent opened his own fashion house and quickly emerged as one of the most influential designers in Paris. He made women’s trousers popular for both city and country wear. The ’60s collection included metallic and transparent fabrics ; in the 1970s, he introduced the haute peasant look. During the 1960s and ’70s he expanded and included accessories, household linens, fragrances, and men’s clothes into his couture.
